THE DESTRUCTION OF INDISPENSABLE VALUES BY SCIENTIFIC ERROR: FREUD

There is increasing worry about how scientific mistakes, especially in psychology, philosophy, and sociology, are destroying important values in society. Many of these errors come from ideas that say moral values have no real meaning and are only influenced by personal interests. This perspective overlooks how emotional responses, shaped by biology and culture, are crucial for a strong society.

A significant concern is the impact of psychiatrists, particularly Sigmund Freud, whose teachings promote freeing natural instincts instead of following cultural norms. This shift has harmed important cultural values, leading to a generation that may not connect to traditional morals. An example of this is a Canadian psychiatrist who believed we should get rid of ideas about right and wrong when raising children, suggesting that such concepts are burdensome.

Despite these challenges, some scholars are beginning to question these harmful ideas. They argue that the belief that human impulses are always good may actually weaken important social values. Therefore, even though society is facing difficult times, there are scholars who still advocate for understanding and valuing cultural traditions.
