EMERGENCY POWERS

In a free society, government powers are mainly limited to enforcing universal laws. However, there are times when these powers need to be temporarily expanded for the greater good, such as during external threats, rebellions, or natural disasters. In these cases, society may need to give special emergency powers to someone to ensure safety and order.

The challenge lies in setting clear conditions for when emergency powers can be granted to avoid them being misused or extending beyond necessity. For instance, if anyone could declare an emergency, they could potentially abuse these powers. A better approach would be for the Legislative Assembly to have the authority to declare emergencies and to temporarily delegate powers to the government, ensuring that these powers can be revoked.

Additionally, constitutions should include provisions for handling unforeseen issues where existing rules may not apply, providing a means for quick resolution while maintaining checks on power.
